Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of NexGuard, operated by Reach X, LLC at nexguardhq.com.

The Service

NexGuard compares file fingerprints against a database of known malicious sample hashes. It detects files that exactly match a known bad sample. It does not use heuristics or behavioral detection, and it will not catch malware that has been modified even slightly from a known sample. NexGuard is not a replacement for a full antivirus suite and is provided without any warranty that it will detect any particular threat.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Subscriptions and Billing

The avtool command-line scanner is free and MIT licensed. The NexGuard subscription is $10 per month, billed in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we do not prorate partial months.

Mobile Terms of Service

Program name: NexGuard.

Program description: NexGuard offers two separate text message programs, each requiring its own express consent. The service program sends account notifications, subscription and billing updates, and alerts relating to scans on your machines. The marketing program sends promotional messages about NexGuard. You may consent to either, both, or neither.

Consent is not required. Agreeing to receive text messages is not a condition of creating an account, of purchasing a subscription, or of using any part of NexGuard.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply.

How to opt out: Reply STOP to any message from us to stop receiving texts. You will receive a single confirmation and no further messages.

How to get help: Reply HELP to any message, email support@nexguardhq.com, or call (877) 353-2374.

Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy: Your mobile number will not be shared with third parties or affiliates. See our Privacy Policy.

Supported carriers: Message delivery is subject to your carrier's coverage and support. Not all carriers support all message types.

Acceptable Use

Do not use NexGuard to break the law, to attack or probe systems you do not control, or to attempt to circumvent licensing or billing.

Open Source

The avtool scanner is licensed under the MIT license. Those license terms govern your use of the source code, and nothing in these terms restricts rights granted to you under that license.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Reach X, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from malware that NexGuard did not detect. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders before they take effect.
